Konknni Compering Workshop Held by Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA)

Konknni Compering Workshop Held

The second Konknni Compering workshop which was conducted by Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) recently in Margao BPS Club, evoked a good response with participants, hailing from most of the talukas of Goa. The duties and responsibilities of a compere was impressively spelled out by well known compere Dr. Ajay Vaidya.“It is not enough for a compere to have an information, but he should also have information based knowledge of the subject. The compere should be updated in knowledge and he should have all round information,” Dr. Vaidya said while guiding the participants in the workshop. He also said that, since the compere accepts the responsibility of compering, he becomes the representative of the organizers, and therefore there is no room for him to be merely an announcer or commentator. Further elaborating the duties of a compere, he said that the compere should maintain discipline and dignity during the function, and that is why the person who has accepted the responsibilty to be compere for any function he or she should report on the venue half an hour before the function and leave the venue half an hour after the function.” He urged the participants to do the necessary preparation and home work much in advance for the compering of any function.

The workshop was formally inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Ajay Vaidya in the presence of Goa Konknni Akademi’s Vice President Vincy Quadros, DKA’s president Premanand A. Lotlikar and Secretary Jose Salvador Fernandes.
GKA vice-president Vincy Quadros praised and congratulated DKA for conducting such workshops, which was not given a thought by Goa Konknni Akademi for the last 25 years, since its inception.

Due to the demand for more Konknni compering workshops, DKA is intending to hold another two workshops very shortly, one in Ponda and another one in Canacona.
At the end of the workshop, certificates were presented to the participants at the hands of guests.
